Bildungsroman ââ¬Å"I hadnââ¬â¢t had a bite since yesterday, so Jim he got out some corn-dodgers and buttermilk, and pork and cabbage and greens-there ainââ¬â¢t nothing in the world so good when itââ¬â¢s cooked right- and whilst I eat my supper we talked and had a good time. We said there wasnââ¬â¢t no home like a raft, after all. Other places do seem so cramped up and smothery, but a raft donââ¬â¢t. You feel mighty free and easy and comfortable on a raft.â⬠The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, was written before The Civil War, by Mark Twain (AKA) Samuel Clemens, was written in Hartford Connecticut, and Elmira New York in 1876 to 1883. Mark Twainââ¬â¢s writings often show life lessons being told through characters and are very involved with society and the effects that is has on certain people, like most other novels it shows morals and beliefs of the time era. Authors use many different techniques in literature to portray whatever they wish to give to the reader. Motifs are childhood lies and cons, superstitions and folk beliefs; the hypocrisy of ââ¬Å"civilizedâ⬠society. This technique is one used very frequently in this novel. Bildungsroman is a type of novel concerned with the education, development, and maturing of a young protagonist. In all novels involving a main character of a young teen it wraps around the essence of, in this case a young boy, coming of age and learning lessons in life that mature and help develop him into the man he will continue to be later in life.
